Fremont County is called ``the climate capital of Colorado`` due to the pleasant year-round weather.

Fremont County is is only a short trip of 100 miles from Denver, 45 miles southwest of Colorado Springs and 35 miles west of Pueblo.

A combination of unique high-desert geography and 5300-foot average elevation protects the area from harsh conditions.

The Arkansas River extends the entire sixty-mile length of Fremont County.

The average daily high temperature in January is 14 degrees warmer in Fremont County than other Colorado counties.
